Wellbeing Support is available to all employees, volunteers (including Ambulance Tasmania) and their immediate families. The Wellbeing Support Officers are a point of contact for short term assistance and can be a facilitator, conduit or just a friendly ear to help you work through the ups and downs of life.

There are 9 permanent Wellbeing Support Officers and 28 Wellbeing Support Peers who can speak with you with a high degree of confidentiality. Wellbeing Support Officers are not advocates or counsellors and are not a substitute for any professional expertise, but they can hook you up with them.

Peer support is available to all Ambulance Tasmania employees, volunteers and their immediate families to help cope with personal or job related difficulties.

MumSpace

MumSpace is Australia’s new one-stop website supporting the mental health and emotional wellbeing of pregnant women, new mums and their families.

MumSpace is designed to connect you quickly with the level of support you need, from advice and support in the transition to parenthood, to effective online treatment programs for perinatal depression and anxiety. The resources on MumSpace will help you ‘step-up’ to whichever level of support suits you best. MumSpace is also a resource for your healthcare professional.

MumSpace is brought to you by the Perinatal Depression e-Consortium (PDeC), led by the Parent-Infant Research Institute (PIRI) in partnership with Perinatal Anxiety and Depression Australia (PANDA), Monash University, Jean Hailes for Women’s Health and Queensland University of Technology.

The online resources and apps available through MumSpace are evidence-based and have been evaluated by the PDeC partners in research studies conducted here in Australia.

DadSpace

Providing support for the emotional health of men who are expecting or have a new baby. DadSpace is a website dedicated to supporting fathers across Australia. DadSpace, provides information, strategies, tips, resources, and advice specifically for dads.


DadBooster

DadBooster is designed for men who are experiencing paternal postnatal depression. This program is based on years of clinical experience and controlled research about how to best reduce moderate to severe symptoms of depression.


SMS4Dads

There’s not a lot out there that speaks directly to dads. SMS4dads supports men in their role as fathers and increases awareness of their influence on baby’s brain development.

SMS4dads helps fathers understand and connect with their baby and partner. It also checks in on their wellbeing and offers professional support if needed.

SMS4dads is FREE. It provides info related to the age and stage of your baby. It’s the info you need – when you need it, how you need it – straight to your phone,

SANDS

Peer-to-peer support services are unique and different to any support offered by friends, family or other professional counselling or therapy services. Our volunteer parent supporters provide a safe space for bereaved parents to talk with those who are going through similar life challenges. It is through the lived experience of our volunteer parent supporters that we are able to provide real hope, understanding and empathy.


Pregnancy Counselling & Support Tasmania

Free and confidential counselling (individual or couples) – grief counselling offered. Their office is in Hobart but they offer online support.


The Glimmer Project

The Glimmer Program is a 3 week program that is offered online, priced at $147. It includes daily guided meditations, informative video content which includes grief management tools, and peer group support. Glimmer has a podcast and other reading resources on the website. Glimmer is a Not-for-Profit organisation that was started by an Australian GP - who lost a 2-day-old baby and wanted to bridge the gaps in available supports in Australia.
