Overview

Please note: Some videos and articles contain discussions of challenging life experiences and may be distressing for some viewers.

A lived experience is the knowledge and insight gained from navigating difficult life events or circumstances. This may include mental health challenges, loss and grief, family difficulties, traumatic workplace incidents, or the pressures associated with operational and other work.

The stories shared here are not scripted. They are honest conversations from your colleagues and peers across Emergency Services, speaking openly about challenge, resilience, recovery, and hope.

By sharing their experiences, our participants hope to encourage understanding, reduce stigma, and remind others that they are not alone. Together, we can create a culture where mental health and wellbeing are recognised as everyone's business, and where seeking support is seen as a sign of strength.

Taking care of your mental and physical wellbeing has never been more important. If these stories resonate with you, remember that support is available and reaching out is a positive first step.
